For the past 14 years, I've had the privilege of riding Bike4Chai in support of the incredible children and families served by Chai Lifeline.
For years, I rode because I believed in the mission. This year, I ride because the mission became personal.
This year, I'm dedicating my ride to the memory of my mom, Gila, who recently passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
The photo above was taken at the end of Day 1 of Bike4Chai in 2013. My mom came to cheer me on at the finish line. She was always so proud of my riding and fundraising. Just one year later, her own battle with cancer would begin.
Today, I ride in her memory.
