Hey there! This will, im yirtzeh Hashem, be my first year riding for B4C. Although I’ve really wanted to join for the past couple of years, I wasn’t able to. Let me explain why.

For the past five years, I worked at the most special camp in the world: Camp Simcha! And quite a simcha it is. Aside from Eretz Yisroel, it is the holiest place on earth! Unless you’ve been there, you’ve never experienced anything like it. You’ll see people running around in wacky costumes with face paint, yelling at the top of their lungs to random simcha chants—some that have existed for years and others made up on the spot! The lunches there look like monkeys on cocaine!

The place is absolutely hoppin’, and I’ll always cherish the memories from our "regular-not-so-regular" daily activities—whether it was getting dunked in a dunk tank by my camper, painting each other’s faces (I hope the canvas staff forgives us!), or just chilling in the hammocks. There are too many details to fit on a Bike4Chai page!

Camp Simcha is a place where kids batteling cancer and going through chronic illnesses have a chance to breath and be themselves not just the "patient" in the room. It's a place that makes the camper feel so normal that sometimes the counselors feel like the odd ones out. When these kids go to camp for 2 weeks it literally gets them through the rest of the year. When they're going through treatments or other difficult situations they have these weeks to look back on and it gives them and their parents the energy to keep charging onward!

I’ve been in camp, so I know exactly what it’s like. I can attest that the proceeds going to Chai Lifeline and Camp Simcha go to one of the best causes out there; you truly don't know what you are doing for these kids and how much you make them smile. That is exactly why I’m riding! I can’t wait to see all the familiar faces of the campers waiting at the finish line. Because I worked in camp, I wasn’t able to participate in B4C previously because my camper needed me by his side 24/7. Now that I’m married and can’t work there, I’m doing everything I possibly can to contribute to camp!

Please help a brother out and help me reach my goal of putting a smile on these kids' faces. Imy”H, I’ll have you in mind when I’m on the road nearing the finish line!

Yours truly,
