Hal Husney
In the past, I have reached out about riding in Bike4Chai to support an incredible cause and I was looking forward to doing the same this year.
But this year has been different.
On January 30, I suffered a heart attack. By what I can only describe as a series of miracles, I am still here and thank Gd, feeling pretty good, even lost some weight! Then, just weeks later, I was hit with a rotator cuff injury that has made training a real challenge.
I am actively working on recovering from both, and I still hope to participate in the ride on July 29th. But whether or not I'm able to join the ride this year, the mission has not changed.
I am still trying to raise $10,000 for Bike4Chai, because the children and families who rely on this support need it no less.
If you have supported me in the past, I am deeply grateful. And if you are able to again this year, it would mean even more to me now.
Every dollar I raise will help support critical programs and services for more than 6,000 families impacted by illness, crisis, and loss. These services include counseling and case management, meals delivered to hospitals and homes, transportation to medical appointments, emergency financial assistance, insurance advocacy, i-Shine afterschool programming, Big Brothers/Sisters, crisis and trauma intervention, and Chai Lifeline’s flagship medically-supervised summer programs, Camp Simcha, Camp Simcha Special, and Camp Simcha Without Borders.

On behalf of the children and families of Chai Lifeline, thank you for your support.
