I am so inspired to ride bike 4 chai this year as I ride in honor of this amazing little girl Lina Bronfein.

Lina’s parents shared with us the powerful story of their daughter’s leukemia journey. Lina was born in December 2022 and brought immense joy to their family. In March 2025, after what initially seemed like a common illness, Lina was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when doctors discovered her hemoglobin was critically low. She was rushed to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, where she underwent aggressive chemotherapy. Before treatment, her bone marrow was 95% cancerous; after just 29 days, it was cancer-free.

Though Lina’s treatment will last two and a half years, her prognosis is hopeful thanks to medical advancements, with over a 90% chance of survival. Throughout intense treatments, Lina has remained joyful, resilient, and full of light, inspiring everyone around her. During this journey, the family also welcomed a baby boy, Samuel, and Lina embraced being a big sister.
