Dear Friends,
Next week, I’ll be riding my bike 300 kilometers over two intense days as part of Bike4Chai 2025. But this journey isn’t about the distance. It’s about something far greater.

It’s about the children who fight battles no child should ever have to face — and the incredible people who walk (and ride) beside them.

For our family, this mission is deeply personal.

Our daughter Minky just returned from her fifth summer as a staff member at Camp Simcha — five summers of giving her heart to children whose lives have been turned upside down by illness. She’s held their hands through fear, danced with them through pain, and loved them without limits. To her, Camp Simcha isn’t a camp. It’s a sacred space where kids rediscover joy, dignity, and strength.

One of those children lucky enough to experience Camp Simcha is Avremi — a brave young boy from Israel who just completed his third summer at Camp Simcha. Every year, Avremi travels across the ocean — from his home in Israel to a magical place where he can laugh, run, play, and just be a kid. To see him smiling again is to know the power of hope. The power of Chai Lifeline.

And that’s why I ride.

I ride because no child should ever face illness alone.
Because no parent should have to watch their child suffer and feel helpless.
Because love, community, and compassion can’t cure cancer — but they can carry a family through it.

Together, Reitzu and I helped build Chai Lifeline Montreal from the ground up. And today, as we support more families than ever before, our need is growing.

I’ve committed to raising $120,000 — part of a larger budget that fuels programs like:

🎁 Birthday in a Box – For children too sick to celebrate with friends, we bring the party home.
💛 Serenity Retreats – For parents exhausted by fear, we offer a breath of peace.
🌟 Camp Simcha – A place where miracles feel real, and childhood returns.
We’ve seen firsthand what your support makes possible. We've seen what hope looks like — in the eyes of a child, in the strength of a parent, in the smile of a counselor.
And now, we’re asking — please help us carry this hope forward.

Help us reach families when the bottom falls out from beneath them.
Help us say yes to more kids, more parents, more healing.
Help us be there — until no one needs us to be.

With all our hearts,

Avi & Reitzu Iczkovits
