This summer, I will once again be biking 180 miles through 3 states to Camp Simcha, an extraordinary overnight camp that gives children with cancer a vacation from sickness. A summer in camp restores their spirits and renews their determination to fight!
Words cannot explain the absolute thrill I experienced last summer when I completed the 180 miles and rode in to Camp Simcha. I was greeted by all of the incredible children of Camp Simcha who were singing and dancing to celebrate. The spirit and adrenaline of the kids makes you forget about how sore and/or tired you may be feeling. All the children want to do is put a medal around your neck - the smiles on the children's faces is heartwarming and one can't hold back their emotions. It is truly a remarkable experience.
The ride won't be easy, but neither is life for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special, are Chai Lifeline's flagship programs. Every year these two camps offer 420 children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. To learn more about the camps, visit campsimcha.org.
I will be biking to camp on Wednesday and Thursday, August 16th & 17th. My objective is to raise at least $5,000 by then and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Thank you for supporting me and doing so, helping children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment and aftermath of serious pediatric illness.
