This summer, for the third time, I will be riding in Bike4Chai, a powerful two-day journey that raises critical funds for Chai Lifeline and the children and families they support. What makes this event so special is not only the challenge of the ride, but where it leads: to Camp Simcha, where children facing serious illness get to experience pure joy, friendship, and the chance to simply be kids.
Over the last few years, this cause has become deeply personal to me. As many of you know, cycling has always been a place where I go to think, reset, and find my center. But Bike4Chai has given that time on the bike a much greater purpose. Every mile has become a reminder of how much community matters, how much family matters, and how important it is that no one facing the unthinkable should ever have to face it alone.
As a father of two little girls, I feel that even more strongly now. When a child is battling serious illness, the impact reaches far beyond the hospital room. It touches parents, siblings, grandparents, and entire families trying to hold themselves together through fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty. Chai Lifeline steps into that reality with extraordinary care, providing year-round support through counseling, hospital and home services, transportation to medical appointments, nourishing meals, financial assistance, crisis intervention, sibling support, and unforgettable programs like Camp Simcha and i-Shine
That is why I ride.
I ride because children fighting so hard deserve moments of laughter, freedom, and hope. I ride because families in crisis need more than sympathy — they need real support. And I ride because organizations like Chai Lifeline make sure that support shows up with compassion, dignity, and love when families need it most. Chai Lifeline says its programs are provided to families at no cost, which makes every donation matter that much more.
This year, I am asking for your help once again. Please consider making a donation and joining me in supporting these brave children and their families. Your generosity helps turn miles into meaning, and effort into real impact for people who need it most
Thank you so much for your support.
This is why I ride. I hope you’ll join me.
