This summer, I am excited to take part in Bike4Chai, an exhilarating 100-mile cycling event benefiting the children and families of Chai Lifeline. Every mile I ride and every dollar I raise will help support more than two-dozen essential programs for more than 6,000 children and families confronting pediatric illness, crisis, and loss. These services include counseling and case management, meals delivered to hospitals and homes, transportation to medical appointments, emergency financial assistance, insurance advocacy, i-Shine afterschool programming, Big Brothers/Sisters, Project Chai crisis intervention, and Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special, Chai Lifeline’s flagship medically-supervised summer programs.
Chai Lifeline has supported me and my family personally. My brother was diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2009 at 11 months old. My brother is doing well now, but at the time it was a shocking diagnosis. Cancer was something that happened to other people, other families. During that time, chai lifeline came to our aid with meal trains, big brother/sister programs, and more. At a time in our lives when we desperately needed a support system, Chai lifeline was there for us. I don't think I'll ever be able to repay Chai lifeline fully for the kindness they showed me and my family. I'm riding this year to raise money for this wonderful organization.
My objective is to raise $5,000, and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
