Bike4Chai 2022 is less than two weeks away! During the many months of training leading up to Bike4Chai, I am frequently asked, "so, why do you do it? Why do you torment your body and spend 6+ hours riding 100 miles in one day to raise money for Bike4Chai?" My answer is simple, "I do it for the kids." I just ride, and through YOUR generous tzedaka (donations) together WE are able to give them a better life. We are able to give them hope in their darkness, we are able to provide solace to the thousands of families that need the financial, emotional, physical and mental support while they care for their sick children. As many of you know, I ran the Boston Marathon in 2012 and 2013 for TAN (Technology for Autism Now) to benefit the many children struggling with Autism. I run, you donate - a match made in heaven! This year, the impact of my ride struck close to home. Three weeks ago, a good friend of mine was delivered the chilling news that every parent would dread, “I’m sorry but the results came back that your child has cancer.” As the co-captain of the New England contingent, Team Midnight Riders, I am proud to tell you that we are dedicating this year's ride to Carmiya Chaya Hadas bas Tziporah Miriam. She is a cute little 5 year old girl who unfortunately has cancer. The doctors are very hopeful that she is on her way to a speedy recovery. Please daven (send prayers and well wishes) for Carmiya Chaya Hadas bas Tziporah Miriam. The children at Chai Lifeline are fighting the fight of their lives – and FOR their lives. They need YOUR help and support. Their strength and fortitude have inspired me to find my own strength and fortitude as I embark for the second year on this monumental ride. I will participate in Bike4Chai on Thursday, August 18, 2022. You don’t have to get on a bike to support this most worthy cause; my goal is to raise $10,000 by then, and I’m counting on YOU to help me reach it! Please contribute by clicking on the link below. All donations are 100% tax-deductible. Thank you for supporting me and supporting the CHILDREN of Chai Lifeline! B'Shalom, Eli
